Why is my Skin Oily?
Oily skin occurs when the sebaceous glands in the skin produce excess sebum (oil). While sebum is essential for moisturizing and protecting the skin, overproduction can lead to a greasy appearance, clogged pores, and an increased risk of acne. Factors such as hormonal imbalances, genetics, stress, diet, and improper skincare practices can aggravate oily skin. Environmental factors like humidity, pollution, and heat can also contribute to excess oil production. In some cases, the skin may produce more oil to compensate for dryness or barrier damage caused by harsh products or environmental pollutants.
